Who Are The Experts -
And What Are They Giving Away?

Rich DiGirolamo

Rich

Rich DiGirolamo is an expert in keeping people “engaged in process.” He does this through humorous and fun keynotes, trainings and workshop presentations. Whether it be organizational or personal development Rich helps people cut through the rules, policy, and nonsense that hold people back; and get to the heart of not only what needs to be done, but how to get people excited (again) about doing it. Rich used to listen to groups of people whine about their weight issues but after fifteen years he got tired of hearing people tell him (once again) that they were “going to do it this time”. So he found the nearest cheesecake and now works with organizations to create fun programs that support employee well-being; including weight loss.

Rich lost a whole bunch of weight a very long time ago (20 years) and understands the challenges, commitment and successes associated with this personal issue. He dreams of a world where people are not obsessed with weight, but make simpler, smarter and realistic choices which foster a healthy approach to their health; not their weight. His approach to weight loss (and all of his work) tends to be an in-your-face reality check to actually get results and change your life. Underneath his sometimes slightly offensive tone really is a heck of a nice guy, who truly wants you to succeed.

Rich looks forward to challenging conventional wisdom whenever possible.

Scott "Q" Marcus

Scott

Scott “Q” Marcus has lost 2,327 pounds – IF you add up all the weight he has lost (and regained) since childhood.

On his 39th birthday, after suffering from chest pains, backaches, financial ruin, and a failing marriage, he decided – one more time – to take control of his life and lost 70 pounds over the next 364 days, which he has maintained to this date.

Scott now refers to himself as a "THINspirational speaker" and addresses audiences across the country on how to experience healthier, happier, and more productive lives. However, unlike many other weight loss experts, he does not focus on the “Three Cs: Carbs, Calories, and Calisthenics.” Rather, his playful, humorous, and inspirational presentations deal with the thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that lead to the painful behaviors and have been described as "a cross between Nutrition 101, Group Therapy, and a Southern Revival."

In addition to speaking, Scott has a weekly syndicated column, “Striving for Imprefection,” that is now in its fifth year, and he produces motivational cruises and retreats.

Denise Lamothe Survival Guide

EXPRESS YOUR FEELINGS – No one knows what’s going on inside of you if you don’t tell them.  Holding your feelings in leads to emotional, spiritual and physical distress… and is likely to lead you to the cookie jar.

MAKE AS MANY SELF-LOVING CHOICES AS YOU CAN – Do this every day and in every area of your life!  You will be happier and more content and less likely to develop those emotional food cravings.

GIVE YOURSELF QUIET TIME – We all need rest and peaceful time to check in with ourselves.  Use deep breathing, meditation or some form of quiet introspection every day.  We are often so busy doing that we forget to just “be.”  If we don’t do this, we forget ourselves, we don’t meet our own needs and end up feeling resentful and using food to soothe those angry feelings.

NURTURE YOUR SPIRIT – Be creative, laugh, play, hug someone.  Stop taking life so seriously.  We are all still children – only in bigger bodies.  Be child-like.  Get some art materials, some clay or just walk on the grass in your bare feet.

APPRECIATE YOURSELF – This is your job.  Others are too busy to make your happiness and well being their mission.  If you have expectations that others will meet your needs (and they might sometimes…) you will likely be disappointed more often than not.

ALWAYS REMEMBER THERE ARE NO MISTAKES ONLY LESSONS – and whatever you do, NEVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BEAT YOURSELF UP.  This will only make things worse.  We are all perfect, yet it is not the human way to behave perfectly at all times.  If you beat yourself up, you will feel BAD and sugars and simple carbohydrates will scream out for your attention.

Scott "Q" Marcus:
"151 Easy Things to Try BEFORE You Give up on your Diet."

Scott "Q" Marcus 151 Easy diet Tips

These are really easy to use, very simple tips to try BEFORE you give up on all your hard work. They're motivational, fun, playful -- and effective. And the whole booklet is yours when you attend the conference call!

Samples from the book:

When you lose sight of motivation, think about any and all the positive changes you have made so far and think about how good those changes make you feel about yourself.

Find time to be alone and enjoy it. Relax.

Don’t buy “red light” foods, even if they’re on sale. You’ll eat them despite all your great intentions

Walk on the beach early on a sunny morning listening to your favorite moving music.

Find an exercise that is just right (if you think exercise is boring) and has a purpose other than “just exercise” (i.e., walking the dog).

He who stuffeth, puffeth. (It’s OK NOT to clean your plate.)

If you are thinking about how to handle a special event, remember that it’s not your LAST dinner. You can change the way you eat THIS time. There’s always another meal!

If you feel down, make a list of positive things that have happened to you since you started.

Keep a journal of what you eat — and measure the portions.

Scott will also provide up to 30 minutes of free telelphone consulting (by appointment) to anyone who attends the call and wants to call him!
